Racine is the second restaurant by our famous South African chef Reuben Riffels (his first restaurant Reuben’s is on the main road in Franschoek.

Racine is situated in the gorgeous Chamonix wine estate. The wait staff are efficient and helpful. We were planning on just having cake and coffee but the menu looked so interesting that we had two starters and a bottle of wine. The bottle of Chamonix Red was only R50 but was so good!

We had a starters of tempura prawn:

The prawns were lovely but was not so thrilled about the  DuckTerrine, I suppose I hadn’t realized it would be a cold starter (in my hunger state I had mistaken terrine for Tagine!)

For dessert we had a lovely malva pudding with sorbet and crumble and coulis. We ended up staying longer than expected and had an enjoyable evening.
