I am a big fan of yogurt – my breakfasts during the week alternates between oats or a bowl of plain yogurt with some fresh fruit. Yogurt is great for maintaining gut health and a great source of calcium and protein.

I had the pleasure of attending the media launch of the revamped Nutriday #SnackSmart range of yogurts earlier this month and learnt some interesting facts about yogurt. The origins of yogurt are to believed to be in Bulgaria where it was first sold as a health food in pharmacies. We got to take a peek at what the microorganisms called cultures (the cultures, Streptococcus thermophilus and Lactobacillus bulgaricus, are what make yogurt, yogurt!) actually look like.

I fully agree that yogurt is a good, nutritious and healthy snack for kids (and adults alike) but it should best be had plain and unsweetened so as to get the best benefit without the added sugar/ artificial sweetening.

When I am craving a little something sweet though, this stewed fruit in custard flavour is my new favourite treat – so rich, creamy and delicious!

The Nutriday yogurt range has been re-launched with a new improved creamier recipe and also added pack sizes that make it more convenient and consumer-friendly. I especially find the bigger single serving tubs more to my liking then the tiny little cartons.

All the food served at the launch used yogurt in it’s recipes, even these gorgeous cupcakes!

The launch was very well organized and we all had a great time, leaving with a big bag of all the Nutriday yogurts and some fab Typo goodies!
