I am a potato fiend! Potatoes are a very versatile veggie and can be prepared in so many different delicious ways. Although it gets a bad rep for being so carb heavy, it is high in fibre and potassium and can be incorporated into any healthy diet.
We were recently invited to the launch of the the new #WTP campaign (#WTP stands for the Where’s the Potato?!) by the lovely folks at Potatoes SA in collaboration with The National Eatery and Speakeasy, where the chefs dressed up the humble potato in all sorts of delicious flavours (#WTP? – everywhere!). It was an informative evening filled with lots of good food and wine!
Starters were a trio of baby potatoes, the spicy potato with a tomato veloute was the standout for me.

I had a mains of a chicken potato skin mac and cheese served with a pickle salad.

We paired our dishes with white wines like this lovely Ataraxia sauvignon blanc and a sweet Miss Lucy white blend

The highlight for me was undoubtedly the desserts – we had potato waffles served with rosemary infused icecream and rosemary sugar salted churros with a warm chocolate sauce – so delicious!
